Specialist dementia and Alzheimer’s care in Exeter

My 27 year nursing career been very colourful. Back in my home country Estonia, I worked in postoperative units for Vascular and Cancer surgery. Later on I joined the Estonian Army and worked on this path 4.5 years. After going to reserve I started to work in a Mental Health Hospital in the acute ward. In 2012 I moved to England with my family and started to work in a Dementia Nursing Home.

I discovered a passion for looking after people with Dementia, and studied in a variety of ways how to look after those suffering from Dementia in most person-centered way possible. In late 2025 I was made the Home Manager for Barton Place.

A Registered Mental Health Nurse who has over 20 years of experience working in the private health care sector specifically specialising in elderly and Dementia care. He has worked in a variety of different roles within the care sector and has been very privileged to have worked across most of the country. He is very passionate about Dementia Care and providing the highest quality care provision for individuals living with Dementia.

He has completed through the university of Worcester the (FITS) Programme Focused Intervention and support which is a specific training programme designed to reduce the use of antipsychotic medication for people living in the care environment with Dementia. He has also recently completed the Gold Standard framework aimed at improving palliative and end of life care.
