My 27 year nursing career been very colourful. Back in my home country Estonia, I worked in postoperative units for Vascular and Cancer surgery. Later on I joined the Estonian Army and worked on this path 4.5 years. After going to reserve I started to work in a Mental Health Hospital in the acute ward. In 2012 I moved to England with my family and started to work in a Dementia Nursing Home.

I discovered a passion for looking after people with Dementia, and studied in a variety of ways how to look after those suffering from Dementia in most person-centered way possible. In late 2025 I was made the Home Manager for Barton Place.

A Registered Mental Health Nurse who has over 20 years of experience working in the private health care sector specifically specialising in elderly and Dementia care. He has worked in a variety of different roles within the care sector and has been very privileged to have worked across most of the country. He is very passionate about Dementia Care and providing the highest quality care provision for individuals living with Dementia.

He has completed through the university of Worcester the (FITS) Programme Focused Intervention and support which is a specific training programme designed to reduce the use of antipsychotic medication for people living in the care environment with Dementia. He has also recently completed the Gold Standard framework aimed at improving palliative and end of life care.

Anyone having to accept that a much loved parent needs full time care faces the most difficult and painful decision. My Mother with dementia had challenging behaviour and specific needs, and I was introduced to Barton Place. I knew after my first point of contact with a lovely member of the team that this would be the place for Mum. She was treated with respect and kindness, and the care and support that she, and we as a family, received was completely reassuring and we are so grateful.

She enjoyed her food which was adapted for her changing requirements. Special events saw amazing bakes and food emerge from the kitchen regularly to be enjoyed by everyone. Barton Place became not just her care facility but truly her home, and my second home too! I do recommend anyone considering safe care for a loved one to go and visit. You will be made welcome. I thank you all.

My dad is being cared for by the staff amazingly well. He has improved massively since being at Barton Place. The staff really care and engage with the residents. They are always very welcoming and look after the visitors as well as they do the residents.

Their lovely garden allows us sit with my dad (and take our dog with us) so that he can enjoy the fresh air and nature around. The resident farm animals always provide much entertainment when the chef feeds them vege left overs.

I would take this opportunity to thank all the staff there for being so wonderfully kind and caring and good at their jobs.

My husband was a resident at Barton Place Nursing Home for three years. During that time, being a very difficult resident, he received superb care and supervision. Nothing was too much trouble. My husbamd enjoyed being in the garden and all the outdoor space. He enjoyed the various activities which were organised. I cannot fault Barton Place!
